We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Lego Robotic Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Lego Robotic Designer, you will be responsible for designing and building innovative robotic systems and mechanisms using Lego Spike Prime, Lego Spike Essentials, LEGO Mindstorms, LEGO Wedo 2.0 and LEGO Technic system. This role involves working on various projects ranging from educational tools to competitive robotics, with an emphasis on fostering learning and creativity in robotics design and engineering. Key Responsibilities:
- Robotic Design & Development:
- Design and construct robots and mechanical systems using LEGO parts, including motors, sensors, gears, and other components.
- Develop both hardware and software elements of robotic systems, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
- Implement logic, sensors, and control mechanisms to create autonomous or semi-autonomous robots.
- Prototyping & Testing:
- Build, prototype, and iterate on various robotic models based on project requirements.
- Test and troubleshoot prototypes to ensure their functionality and reliability.
- Continuously refine designs to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Programming:
- Program robots using platforms such as LEGO Mindstorms EV3, Spike Prime, or other software relevant to LEGO robotics.
- Develop code based on Scratch & Python for controlling robotic movement, sensor integration, and decision-making processes.
- Work with other team members to integrate custom algorithms, AI, or machine learning where applicable.
- Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work closely with other engineers, designers, educators, and clients to understand design requirements and goals.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate creative solutions for robotic challenges.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and meet design specifications.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of designs, including sketches, diagrams, and code.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and technical guides for internal teams or external clients.
- Assist in the development of instructional materials for educational purposes.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Min NITEC in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience:
- Experience in designing and building robots, especially using LEGO components (LEGO Spike, LEGO Mindstorms, Technic, etc.).
- Familiarity with robotic programming languages such as Python, Scratch 3.0.
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software (Eg, Bricklink Studio 2.0 or Blender) is a plus.
- Previous involvement in competitive robotics, STEM education, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work with both hardware and software aspects of robotics.
- Experience with sensors, motors, and controllers used in LEGO robotics.
- Proficiency in programming environments for LEGO robots (e.g., LEGO Mindstorms EV3 software, Scratch, Python).
- Excellent communication skills for team collaboration and educational instruction.
o Experience in developing coding curriculums (Lessons Plan, Worksheet, Powerpoint slides) will be an advantage.
