Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Project Engineer (Mechanical) to support mechanical works related to power plant systems and infrastructure projects at Jurong Island . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in large-scale mechanical installations such as piping systems, rotating equipment, HVAC, and auxiliary systems in a power generation or industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in delivering mechanical engineering and project management services for power plant and utility infrastructure projects.
- Manage mechanical works including installation of piping, pumps, valves, pressure vessels, compressors, and HVAC systems.
- Oversee site execution to ensure that mechanical installations meet design, safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, consultants, and internal teams for smooth workflow and timely completion.
- Review mechanical drawings, equipment data sheets, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Monitor project progress, track budgets and prepare technical and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Liaise with statutory bodies and stakeholders for permits, inspections, and approvals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the power plant or heavy industrial sector.
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems used in power generation facilities.
- Familiarity with project scheduling, technical documentation, and mechanical testing/commissioning.
- Strong coordination and communication skills to manage multiple interfaces on-site.
- Prior experience working in Jurong Island or similar restricted-access industrial environments is preferred.
