The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the integrated design of both hull and topside modules. This critical leadership role demands both deep technical expertise to resolve complex engineering challenges and exceptional coordination skills to align multidisciplinary resources, ensuring the design deliverables meet the highest quality standards within project timelines.
Main Responsibilities:
- Technical Coordination: Responsible for the overall technical planning and design management of the FPSO topside modules and hull, ensuring design synergy and systematic integration. Monitors internal and external technical interfaces while maintaining consistency across all design interfaces. Ensures full compliance with client requirements, classification society rules, and industry standards.
- Key Technical Oversight: Lead critical technical decision-making and design risk management, providing expert solutions and optimisation strategies for key technical challenges to ensure design effectiveness, safety, and compliance.
- Develop and implement the project design schedule: coordinating and allocating design resources to drive progress. Ensure critical milestones (e.g., model reviews) are achieved on time while ensuring the high-quality delivery of design documents according to schedule.
- Internal & External Technical Communication & Coordination: Serve as the technical authority, interfacing with clients, classification societies, and key subcontractors to resolve contentious technical issues.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Manage a large multidisciplinary design team and coordinate internal/external technical resources to ensure efficient project design progress.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of working experience in the oil & gas industry, specialising in FPSO projects.
- Completion of at least 2 FPSO topside projects, including experience as Engineering Manager leading a technical team with at least 50 members.
- Prior FPSO shipyard working experience is preferred and with familiarity with construction processes and on-site problem-solving.
- Working experiences with international FPSO contractors
- Possesses strong cross-cultural collaboration skills to align multiple stakeholders and maintain high-performance teamwork.
- Ability to deliver under pressure and meet critical milestones.
