Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. ERI@N has multiple Interdisciplinary Research Programmes which focus on translational Research, Development & Deployment which focus on specific area of the energy value chain, and a number of Living labs and Testbeds which facilitate large scale technology deployment enabling validation and demonstration of real-world applications.

We are looking for a Research Engineer for the development of battery Digital Twin for electric vehicle applications. The role includes the development of hardware setup, battery simulation models, and web-based user interface. Our objective is to improve the performance and safety of EV batteries and drive innovation in the field of battery Digital Twins.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop hardware setup for collection of battery data
- Develop components of a battery model, including system integration, data processing, data quality control, and data visualization.
- Design and execute experimental protocols to collect high-quality data, including voltage, current, temperature, and state-of-charge characteristics.
- Develop simulation models of batteries using Python.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and research publications
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proficiency with mathematical modeling and data analytics
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including deploying and managing cloud-based applications
- Hands-on experience with development of web-based user interface
- Knowledge of battery management systems (BMS)
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Matlab, Python, and Javascript
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English for research work purposes
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
