Under the guidance of the Director of Sales, the Assistant Director of Sales - Business Travel is responsible for leading and driving room revenue growth within the Business Travel segment. This role requires a results-driven leader with sharp business acumen and a strategic mindset, who excels in cultivating and sustaining high-value client relationships.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Essential:
- Diploma in Hospitality, Business or related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in a 5-star hotel environment
Desirable:

- Experience in a similar leadership role within a 5-star hotel
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or Business Administration

Strategic Management & Sales Competencies:
- Proven ability to consistently close high-value sales and secure key business travel accounts.

- Strong understanding of Revenue Management principles, analyse reports and execute effective selling strategies aligned with business travel goals.
- Ability to lead a cohesive team to perform job functions independently with minimal supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
1) Direct Sales (60%)
- Effectively manage and expand a targeted portfolio of high-value corporate accounts.
- Acquire a minimum of 20 new accounts annually, each generating confirmed production.
- Conduct 20 qualified sales calls weekly and execute strategic customer site inspections.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and well-documented communication of customer and sales commitments to all operational departments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Opera Sales & Catering system in a timely manner.
- Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with Business travel buyers and key decision-makers across corporate accounts.
- Develops and manages relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Execute sales strategies in alignment with Revenue Management objective to maintain a top-tier yield position.
- Consistently exceed revenue goals set by Director of Sales.
- Leverages off-property sales channels (e.g. GSO, GSA, NSO) to align business travel sales strategies, ensuring the property’s goals and client needs are consistently met.
2) Team Supervision and Development (30%)
- Lead, coach and motivate the Business Travel sales team to achieve revenue and customer satisfaction goals.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and support team members in achieving their KRAs.
- Serve as a mentor and resource to enhance individual and team effectiveness.
- Utilizes Marriott Global Source (MGS) tools to drive ongoing learning and professional growth.
3) Others (10%)
- Energizes all Ritz-Carlton Gold Standards and ensure consistent implementation within the team.
- Attend and contribute to all relevant sales meeting and strategic planning sessions.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as directed by the Director of Sales.
- Completes all mandatory Marriott compliance training.
