This advertisement is recruiting for the position of Science Laboratory cum Admin Assistant.
If successfully selected, you will be seconded to MOE primary school located in Barker Road.
Contract Period: from 01 January 2026 to 31 December 2026
Option to Extend: for a further period of 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027.
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours :
- 6.5 hours daily from Monday to Friday, excluding 0.5 hr lunch break during school term time.
- 6.5 hours daily from Monday to Friday, excluding 0.5 hr lunch break for 2 weeks only during the June and December school holidays.
- The working hours will be from 7.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.
The schedule of work days for the base year will be given to the appointed candidate 2 weeks prior to the commencement.
The services required are set out as the follows:
The Science Laboratory cum Admin Assistant will
- facilitate the delivery of Science lessons and practical assessments. This includes preparing and setting up of apparatus, reagents and materials;
- manage the daily operations, inventory management and maintenance of the two Science rooms and science learning areas in the school;
- assist in the preparations for Science department events and activities;
- assist in any other events and activities based on the school’s needs;
- assist in the upkeep and basic troubleshooting of equipment used in the school’s science eco-stewardship initiatives, including but not limited to the existing systems (e.g. hydroponics, aquaponics systems) , and any future related systems or installations;
- assist in school general administrative matters based on school’s needs; and handle frontline counter duties.
Personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- A team player with good communication skills.
- Possess a post-secondary qualification or equivalent.
- Preferably have at least 1 year of prior experience in logistics, simple administrative duties or Science-related laboratory work.
Additionally, all candidates must demonstrate basic proficiency in both Microsoft Word and Excel.
Microsoft Word: Ability to independently create, format, and edit standard documents using tables and templates.
Microsoft Excel: Ability to enter, sort, and filter data; use basic formulas (e.g., SUM, AVERAGE); and create simple charts.
