Temus was established by Temasek in partnership with UST, to provide digital transformation solutions for the private and public sectors as we aspire to be a strategic partner in realising the Singapore Government’s Smart Nation vision. We are headquartered in Singapore and have more than 400 employees across a wide range of disciplines in strategy, design, architecture, technology, data & AI.
Who We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for a systems architect who can bridge technical depth with strategic advisory, helping clients navigate complex landscapes shaped by legacy constraints, integration challenges, and regulatory demands. This is not a hands-on build role, but one where you act as a trusted advisor. Translating possibilities into actionable strategies, shaping architectural decisions, and enabling teams to execute with confidence. You’ll coach leaders and engineers alike, building their capability to sustain and evolve architectures long after you’ve left. With the credibility of experience, the clarity of a systems thinker, and the empathy of a coach, you’ll move seamlessly between boardroom discussions and technical workshops to create alignment between business vision and technical design.
The Role:
As a Systems Architect, you will serve as the strategic link between our consulting team and the client’s engineering ecosystem, bringing deep expertise across hardware, software, network, and DevOps domains. You will assess and interpret complex technical landscapes, identify constraints and opportunities, and provide clear, actionable recommendations that balance innovation with operational and security imperatives. Your guidance will shape solution strategies, de-risk architectural decisions, and ensure that proposed designs are not only technically sound but also practical in the client’s real-world context.
Job Responsibilities:
- Architecture Evaluation & Advisory – Assess and interpret the end-to-end architecture of complex, high-security systems (covering hardware, software, networks, and integrated platforms) and provide strategic guidance for improvement.
- Complexity Management – Identify technical dependencies, constraints, and risks across systems; advise on approaches to simplify integration, reduce technical debt, and improve architectural cohesion.
- Architecture Coaching & Enablement – Mentor client architects, engineering leads, and technical teams on best practices, governance processes, and decision-making frameworks for sustainable system evolution.
- Security & Compliance Oversight – Review security posture across multiple architecture layers, ensuring alignment with regulatory and industry standards through clear guidance and architectural safeguards.
- Network & Infrastructure Advisory – Provide high-level guidance on network topology, infrastructure models, and connectivity approaches to ensure performance, resilience, and scalability in critical environments.
- Interoperability & Standards Guidance – Recommend architectural patterns, protocols, and design principles that promote system interoperability, maintainability, and adaptability over time.
- Stakeholder Facilitation – Lead architecture-focused workshops, mediate between technical and non-technical stakeholders, and build consensus on design decisions.
What a Day Might Look Like:
- Morning: Join a technical discovery session with client stakeholders to review the current architecture of a hybrid edge–cloud system, identifying integration risks and opportunities.
- Midday: Facilitate a workshop with client architects and engineering leads on improving interoperability and resilience across embedded devices, networks, and cloud platforms.
- Afternoon: Advise senior technology leaders on architectural trade-offs for enhancing security posture while maintaining operational agility.
- Evening: Document key architectural recommendations, update the decision log for governance purposes, and prepare materials for tomorrow’s coaching session on continuous architecture practices.
Job Requirements:
- Architecture Assessment: Conduct high-level evaluations of complex, multi-layered systems (hardware, software, network, cloud) to identify strengths, weaknesses, and risks. Provide strategic guidance on modernization, scalability, and resilience while ensuring architectural decisions remain grounded in operational realities.
- Interoperability & Integration: Advise on patterns and practices that allow diverse systems, embedded devices, legacy platforms, hybrid clouds to work together seamlessly. Help clients navigate dependencies, reduce integration risk, and establish standards that support long-term interoperability and adaptability
- Consulting & Enablement: Act as a capability builder by equipping client teams with the frameworks, governance models, and architectural thinking they need to succeed. Deliver value through coaching, workshops, and advisory sessions that leave organisations better prepared to manage their own architecture over time.
- Facilitation/Change Management: Serve as a neutral facilitator who brings together business and technical stakeholders to make informed, balanced architectural decisions. Promote alignment, manage trade-offs, and engage leadership to ensure architecture choices are adopted and sustained across the organisation.
- Certifications (Preferred) – AWS Solutions Architect, AWS/Azure IoT certifications, TOGAF®, CIoTSP, Azure Solutions Architect, CCNP/CCIE, Kubernetes CKA, CISSP, or equivalent in architecture, cloud, networking, and security.
