Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain on-premises Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD) for identity and access management, including user/group management, policies, and security configurations.
- Monitor the health and performance of Windows and Linux servers, ensuring system uptime, stability, and optimal resource usage.
- Assist in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and system-level issues across both platforms.
- Perform scheduled maintenance activities such as OS updates, patches, service packs, and vulnerability remediations.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and roles to enforce least-privilege access and security compliance across both operating environments.
- Support the deployment of new servers, applications, and configurations, ensuring consistent and automated processes where possible.
Utilize system monitoring tools to track performance metrics and generate regular status and health reports for infrastructure components. - Work with senior engineers to implement and enforce system security measures, including endpoint protection, patch management, and policy compliance.
- Participate in backup and restore procedures, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery testing to ensure data resilience.
- Provide tier-2/3 technical support to end-users for system-related issues, escalating to senior engineers when necessary.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in system administration or IT infrastructure support roles.
- Proficient in managing Active Directory / Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Solid understanding of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) operating systems.
- Experience and knowledge with installing and implementing VMware ESX server, VMware virtual Center, setting up V-Motion, HA, DRS, and related VMware products such as VM Workstation, VMware converter VM Backup products and other products for virtualization would be advantages.
- Experience with patch management, system updates, and scheduled maintenance.
- Working knowledge of backup and restore solutions (e.g., Veeam, Acronis).
- Familiarity with scripting for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash). Understanding of system security protocols and endpoint protection strategies.
