Job Summary
This position is part of the General Ledger team within the Finance Shared Services (FSS) function and reports to the GLSS Manager. The primary responsibility is to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records through the timely maintenance of the general ledger. The role also supports performance tracking across operations, assets, contracts, and regulatory compliance, contributing to the organization's broader sustainability and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full set of accounts, including general ledger activities, journal entries, and month-end/year-end closing.
- Prepare and review journal entries in SAP and ensure timely submission and accuracy.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, balance sheet items, and accruals.
- Prepare monthly audit schedules and assist in clearing outstanding items.
- Generate financial statements and support statutory reporting requirements.
- Prepare GST reports and tax schedules, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to IRAS.
- Support tax computations for corporate income tax and withholding tax.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including asset tagging, capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliations.
- Process asset-related transactions such as creation, transfer, disposal, and write-offs in SAP.
- Track project costs and monitor budgets for capital expenditure and contracts.
- Perform inventory reconciliations and assist in stock-taking exercises.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies during audits and reporting periods.
- Support finance-related projects, system improvements, and ad-hoc tasks as required.
Job Requirement
- Diploma or higher qualification in Accountancy or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in General Ledger, preferably within a Shared Services environment
- SAP (preferred) or other similar ERP system
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive and resourceful, with strong problem solving and execution capability
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly, meeting tight deadlines
- Team player who can work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
