Our client is a leading global commodities brokerage and financial services firm, specializing in trading, risk management, and market analysis. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth execution of physical petrochemical trades. The successful candidate will work closely with traders, shipping agents, and internal stakeholders to ensure each trade is delivered efficiently and in full compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage trade documents such as bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Coordinate vessel nominations and manage loading/discharge operations with terminals, surveyors, and shipping agents.
- Track shipment progress and address any delays or operational disruptions.
- Collaborate with finance teams on invoicing, freight cost allocation, demurrage, and settlement support.
- Act as a key liaison between traders, clients, and internal teams (finance, legal, risk) to ensure seamless trade execution.
- Maintain compliance with charter party terms, port regulations, and internal controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Maritime Studies, Business, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in physical operations within petrochemical or energy trading.
- Solid understanding of international shipping, Incoterms, and trade documentation workflows.
- Familiarity with vessel operations, port procedures, and chartering terms.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple trades under tight timelines.
- Experience with laytime calculations, demurrage, and freight cost tracking is advantageous.
