As a Data Scientist, you will work closely with our business partners and stakeholders to drive robust and optimal data solutions. Your role will also involve gaining a comprehensive understanding of business workflows and products within the GFM domain.
Job Description
- Collaborate with the business to own and implement high-performance advanced analytics solutions and models using Python, Cloudera, Dify, Spark, S3, SQL and Tableau
- Understanding the business domain and relevant datasets.
- Support the delivery of analytics initiatives to address business problems with the ability to determine data required, assess time & effort required and establish timelines. To coordinate with stakeholders for requirements.
- Build machine-learning models for GFM Sales use-cases and efficiency improvement and collaborate with Technology Team to productionize the solution.
- Identify, profile, analyse and present the data discovery output for analytic projects
- Develop data ingestion pipeline and create the analytic data assets
- Train Predictive and Machine Learning models to solve various business questions.
- Perform ad-hoc exploratory statistics and data mining tasks on diverse datasets from small scale to “big data”
- Select features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
- Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
- Extend company’s data with third party sources of information when needed
- Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
- Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
- Carry out ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear manner
- Build Prototypes to demonstrate the derive actionable insights from data, as part of Agile teams
- Work with Stakeholders to define data requirements and review recommended architecture.
- Program advanced analytics capabilities and algorithms to be included in new business solutions.
- Develop visualization interfaces that help business make more insightful decisions
- Maintain cutting edge in Data Science
- Take initiative in evaluating new approaches from data science research
- Test new tools and packages
- Support the programs for changing the business culture towards more data driven
- Create helper functions to automate frequently encountered wrangling and feature engineering tasks
- Engage with the broader analytics community within the bank and align with the overall strategy / direction undertaken by the bank.
- 5 to 6 years of experience in a credible Strategy / Management Consulting firm or in a role at a major bank or financial institution.
- Understanding of treasury products would be useful but not mandatory
- Possess working knowledge and familiarity with trading/treasury products, system applications and end-to-end processes.
- Be familiar with machine learning models such as logistic regression, decision tree and other classification models
- Be familiar with machine learning concepts such as cross-validation, model hyperparameter tuning, and model evaluation and testing
- Be a self-motivated team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
- Be adaptable, creative, decisive, resilient and demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal and writing skills. Confident in presentations to senior management and to a mass audience
- Have good coding skills of Python & Big data technologies such as Spark and Hadoop
- (preferred) Possess good understanding of data structure, algorithms and have good programming skills, including experience with Cloudera, Dify, Spark, S3, SQL and Tableau
- (preferred) Familiar with NLP including working on the latest LLM/GPT models
