In Scope:
Primary purpose is to install and drag cables through trays and ducting from switches to Infrastructure installed in data centre racks.
Cable Installation - Pulling, routing, and laying fibre optic cables in racks, trays, or underfloor systems.
Running cables between network devices, servers, and switches.
Basic Fibre Testing – testers can be supplied
Accurately labelling both ends of fibre cables as per site standards or client instructions.
Cables of between 5m to 50M in length (cables supplied)
Cleaning and inspecting connectors before installation if required
Mounting and dressing fibre cables neatly within server racks and patch panels.
Ensuring cable management standards are followed
Excluded scope:
Updating cable schedules, network diagrams, and documentation, barcoding and scanning (advise how much of this you need done)
Rack & Infrastructure Setup
Installing fibre patch panels and termination points.
Overview:
Working in teams of two
Tech’s will need to undertake DC induction and clearance to Google data centre standards
Tech’s must have appropriate work rights for SNG
Techs must have appropriate work clothing / shoes for working in a data centre.
Standard, 5-day workweek, no overtime, 8 hour per day, 40 hour week, no weekend work.
