We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join a dynamic finance team for an international law firm. The role will cover work-in-progress (WIP) management, trust account administration, internal audit support, billings, and accounts payable. This position is well-suited for an individual with strong attention to detail and a desire to broaden their accounting experience in a supportive, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with WIP (Work-in-Progress) management, ensuring accurate tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Handle trust account administration and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal audit checks and help maintain robust financial controls.
- Review and verify billing entries prepared by the administrative team.
- Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice checks, payments, and vendor reconciliations.
- Contribute to month-end closing and other finance projects as required.
- Assist in cash management activities, such as monitoring multi-currency accounts, preparing payment requests, and processing payroll/vendor payments.
- Support the preparation of management reports, monthly closing, budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (operations, legal, and business teams) to ensure alignment of financial processes with commercial activities.
- Support audit, tax, and compliance reporting in line with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in finance projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–3 years of accounting experience; exposure from professional services, legal, or consultancy firms will be advantageous
- Familiarity with AP, billing, or audit processes; exposure to WIP or trust accounts will be advantageous.
- Good working knowledge of Excel and accounting systems.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable working with deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
