Job description

Curriculum specialist is a versatile, best in-class educator who has demonstrated the ability to teach and implement innovative curriculum practices in the classrooms. He or she is responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating and assessing learning outcomes, and ensuring the attainment of individualized and group goals for children.

§ At least a Bachelor degree in ECE

§ Strong communication skills - spoken and written English, or Chinese (for Chinese Curriculum Specialist.

§ Excellent interpersonal skills, work with all levels of staff, professionals, parents and families, and community partners from diverse nationalities and cultures

§ 2 years of early childhood experience; and the capacity to teach and implement innovative curriculum practices.

§ Engage in planning and implementing an age-appropriate curriculum that is customized to meet individual learning needs and optimal outcomes for all children.

§ Manage an effective classroom that is focused on positive behavioural guidance.

§ Engage in ongoing observations in the classroom from which to plan intentional teaching and learning strategies that are differentiated and customized to meet the diverse needs of children.

§ Mentor and guide the teaching team to develop tam’s competencies and ensure successful team teaching for the class.

§ Advocate and guide the teaching team in embracing the policies and processes for establishing the culture of professionalism; driven by the ECE ethics and professionalism as well as the Odyssey programme philosophy, culture and core values.

§ Support Odyssey’s mission for outreach; share knowledge and skills as an Odyssey educator, contribute to outreach initiatives and actively engage in school and community events as well as home-school partnership and parent education programmes.

§ Support Odyssey’s mission for research and innovation by participating in curriculum initiatives, piloting and review of new curriculum strategies at brand level, as well as trying out of ideas and action research at school level.
