Job Summary:
The Meat Cutter is responsible for preparing, cutting, trimming, and packaging meat products in accordance with company standards and customer preferences. This position requires knowledge of meat processing, safe food handling, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats such as mutton, poultry, and seafood to prepare standard cuts.
- Weigh, wrap, and label meat products for display or special orders.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the meat department, including equipment, tools, and work areas.
- Ensure all products are rotated, stored properly, and meet quality and freshness standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, making recommendations, and fulfilling special requests.
- Follow safety and food handling guidelines as mandated by company policies and health regulations.
- Assist in inventory management and receiving of meat deliveries.
- Sharpen and maintain knives and cutting tools.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet daily production goals.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred or Candidates with no qualification will be considered based on relevant work experiences
- Minimum 2years Prior experience as a meat cutter, butcher, or similar role required
- Knowledge of different meat cuts and safe meat handling practices.
- Strong knife skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work in cold environments and stand for long hours
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Physically fit and Must be able to carry heavy items
- Able to work weekends and public holidays.
- Able to work night shifts.
