Support Staff for Science, Mathematics & General Administration

Responsibilities

• Prepare and pack experimental materials (e.g., SPARKLE Kits) for Primary 3–6.
• Set up and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper storage and labeling of chemicals, specimens, and tools.
• Assist Science teachers with practical lessons and recess-time activities.
• Report safety issues or equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Design and create resources for ad-hoc Science enrichment programs.
• Conduct routine maintenance and performance checks.
• Monitor water levels, nutrient concentrations, and pH balance.
• Clean system components such as tanks, pipes, trays, and pumps.
• Assist in planting, harvesting, and replanting.
• Report any system issues to relevant staff.
• Support Math teachers in preparing and organizing manipulatives, teaching aids,and custom lesson materials.
• Create and maintain teaching tools and resources (e.g., fraction kits, measuring tools).
• Systematically organize and label Math resources for easy access.
• Contribute to the design of ad-hoc enrichment activities.
• Handle phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
• Assist with photocopying, scanning, and printing of documents.
• Support office events and meeting arrangements.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Science-related fields (Biology, Chemistry,Physics, Applied Sciences), OR
• Diploma in Laboratory Technology or Biomedical Science, OR
• Degree in Education with a focus on Science or Mathematics
• At least 1 year of experience as a lab assistant, technician, or in an educational support role (preferably in a school setting)
• Competent in preparing and managing inventories and lesson setups
• Proficient in basic ICT tools (e.g., spreadsheets, report forms)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Able to follow instructions accurately and work independently or in a team

Working Hours:

• Monday to Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM (excluding 1-hour lunch break)
• Thursday to Friday: 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM (excluding 1-hour lunch break)
• No service required on weekends and gazetted public holidays
