About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Pastry Commis to join our central kitchen team. This role involves hands-on production of pastries, with opportunities to learn advanced pastry techniques and contribute to the smooth daily operations of our kitchen. You will work closely with our pastry chefs to deliver consistent, high-quality products.
Responsibilities
- Carry out daily pastry production, including:
Weighing and preparing ingredients
Cookie cutting and dough portioning
Splitting and handling dough for baking
Choux pastry production and preparation of éclairs - Assemble and decorate pastries with precision and creativity
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation of all pastries
- Support pastry chefs with additional production tasks as required
- Maintain workstation cleanliness and organization throughout the day
- Participate in end-of-day kitchen cleaning and equipment maintenance, ensuring hygiene and food safety standards are upheld
Requirements
- Prior experience in a pastry/baking environment preferred
- Strong interest in pastry arts and a desire to improve technical skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and production schedules accurately
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with early morning start times (6:30am / 7:00am)
- Reliable, hardworking, and a strong team player
