The Senior Mechanical Technician will provide technical expertise and support for the fabrication of offshore power plants. This role will involve installing, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems, including piping, pumps, valves, and other equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to resolve technical issues and improve fabrication processes.
- Develop and implement mechanical installation and testing procedures.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians and other personnel.
- Assist in the development of mechanical fabrication plans, including resource allocation and scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, including permit-to-work systems and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Participate in risk assessments and hazard identification to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of mechanical installations, and testing
Education
- Diploma, NITEC, or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Specialized knowledge /experience
- 5-7 years of experience in mechanical fabrication, installation, preferably in offshore power plant fabrication or shipbuilding industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including piping, pumps, and other equipment.
- Experience with quality control and assurance processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
