[What the role is]
We are looking for self-driven staff to develop community partnerships and facilitate engagements to support NParks’ growing community of stakeholders and programmes.You will be part of a team overseeing NParks’ key community engagement programmes – Nature Kakis and Community in Bloom to promote community stewardship and greenery appreciation among Singaporeans in realising the City in Nature vision.
[What you will be working on]
Key roles include:
Identify and engage key community volunteers to initiate City in Nature-related initiatives for their local communities under the Nature Kakis Network
Facilitate capacity building workshops to support Nature Kakis in self-organising City in Nature activities
Activate more gardening spaces by working with public agencies, grassroots organisations, schools, corporates, and various organisations in Singapore
Provide horticulture advice to develop and sustain community-led gardening projects
Lead and support outreach efforts through events and activities, such as roadshows, focus groups discussions, workshops, garden shows, etc
Build partnerships with community volunteers, other supporting agencies and stakeholders
[What we are looking for]
Area of study in horticulture, life science, environmental science, or related fields preferred
Strong project management with proficiency in MS Office Suite or data analysis software
Relevant experience in doing public outreach and engagement, volunteer management and horticulture-related work preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken)
Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Keen interest to work outdoor and interact with people
Prepared to work outside office hours, including weekends and public holidays
Successful candidates will be offered a 1-year employment contract.
